Race Overview
- Race starts at 8:30 am on Saturday 6/13/26.
- Order of events is run, paddle, pedal.
- Race check in will be 6/12/26 from 5:15-6:15pm at the race site and at Montrose Surf and Cycle. You can also check in on race day starting at 7am.
- The transition area will open at 6:30 am on race day.

Competitor info
Required gear: All racers must provide their own equipment for each leg of the event which includes stand-up-paddle board (SUP) and paddle, personal flotation device (PFD), mountain bike, helmet, and running shoes.
Cut-off time: 3.25 hours

Course Map
The run and paddle take place in the Dallas Creek area of Ridgway State Park, and the bike portion on the RAT system. Approximate distances are 3.5 mile Run, 1.5 mile paddle, 8.5 mile bike. Bike access is via gate across from Dallas Creek entrance of RSP and access to RAT trails via state park 4WD road. Colorado State Patrol assists with safe highway crossing, please be mindful of their instructions.
**All distances are approximate as starting line location is dependent on water level.**
SUP Questions
The race is staged on the beach at Dallas Creek. SUP race goes out from the west side of the beach and comes in on the east side. Keep your shoes with you if you plan to bike in them. All participants must wear their PFD during the paddle. You do not have to stand on your board, do what feels fast to you. You must use a SUP paddle, no kayak paddles please.
Post Race
Awards will be announced at approximately 11:00 am. We will announce top 3 male and female finishers, top youth, and top overall team. We will also have snacks, fruit, and gracious volunteers grilling veggie burgers and hot dogs for participants.
Additional Details
Aid stations located at the transition zone and one limited station on the bike course with volunteers available along all courses. Intermediate mountain bike skills are recommended to complete this race. We also recommend that competitors have some experience with SUP. Participants and volunteers will have to present their CO Parks vehicle registration pass or pay to enter the State Park on race day.

This is a fundraising event and we do not generally offer refunds but will consider transfers.
Each member completes one leg of the race. Teammates will have one timing anklet and pass this on after each segment in a designated chip transfer zone during the race.
Yes, you can divide the race however you would like
Yes, you will sign up in the open team division.
The RAT is purpose built for mountain bikes. While you could use a gravel bike, it would be less fun.
